Terms of Service

Last updated: July 30, 2026

Agreement

By creating an account or using Recivity, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You agree that Recivity may store account information and encrypted vault data as described in the Privacy Policy so we can operate the service.

Service description

Recivity lets you store an encrypted vault document, check in on a schedule you configure, and release access to named beneficiaries if you miss check-ins past your release window.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and provide a valid email address to use Recivity.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. While you are signed in, your vault unlocks automatically using a secret stored with your account.

Vault encryption

Your document is encrypted in the browser before upload. An owner wrap secret stored with your account lets you unlock while signed in. Recovery answers wrap a separate copy of the document key for beneficiaries after release; we never store those answers. If you lose access to your account and cannot provide recovery answers at release, vault contents may be permanently inaccessible to intended recipients.

Dead-man switch

You set check-in intervals and reminder/release delays. If you do not check in and escalation completes, we notify beneficiaries and may grant them a release path to decrypt the vault (and answer the recovery question if you set one). You are responsible for accurate beneficiary contact details and for understanding the schedule you configure.

Acceptable use

You may not use Recivity for illegal content or activity, to harass others, to attempt unauthorized access, or to disrupt the service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

Disclaimer of warranties

Recivity is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Recivity and its operators are not liable for account compromise, inability to decrypt content, missed check-ins due to user error or email delivery issues, beneficiary misuse after release, or events beyond our reasonable control. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim (or zero if the service is free).

Termination

You may stop using Recivity at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms or to protect the service and its users.

Changes

We may update these Terms of Service. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
